FirstRow Desktop App allows you to watch live streaming sports events via the web. Catch soccer, football, basketball, rugby, ice hockey, baseball, and more.
Scheduled events
FirstRow Sport App is a TV resource aggregator that transmits streamed TV sporting events.
The events are scheduled according to time - all you have to do is search for the event you want to watch and click on the available streams to see the match or event selected.
It's worth bearing in mind that FirstRow Sport App doesn't just deal with sport. It also offers general TV channels sorted by country (although we noticed some errors) or category (news, sport, film, etc.). In total, FirstRow Sport App gives you access to 4,500 streamed channels. That's pretty impressive.
Everything in a click
FirstRow Sport App has a polished, well-ordered interface that's easy to find your way around. On the right, you'll find the content divided by country or category, while on the left there's a list of the day's sporting events broken down by sport type.
Quality streams...most of the time
For sporting events, there is usually more than one stream available. Clicking on a source will cause the app to redirect you to the FirstRow website (within the app), where the event will be streamed,
The quality of the streams are generally good, and sources are updated regularly as the event gets closer. That said, on occasion, we did find channels that didn't work, or did, but badly.
In our tests, the general TV channels were more likely to fail. We often found channels to be slow, or simply unreachable.
The lowdown
FirstRow Sport App is ideal for people who are happy watching their sport on the internet.
The interface is easy to use, the programming of events is well-managed and sources are frequently updated. Steaming is generally of decent quality (although not all sources work) and there's usually more than one source to choose from.
When focussing on sports, we'd say the most annoying thing about the app are the ads you have to view before you see the stream. When talking about general TV, however, we've got to say FirstRow Sport App is disappointing.
